Fireworks in the sky

It's a good night's sky at the moment, with the Moon and Jupiter bright in the East.

Oh yes, and a couple of fireworks!

Remember, remember the 5th of November
Gunpowder, treason & plot

 - or the 3rd, if its the nearest convenient Saturday.

Nothing like a good celebration of burning a catholic to foster a feeling of religious tolerance.

So few lions.

Actually, for us Yanks, November 6th will be somewhat important.

Not that November 5th is really a divisive event in the UK. As far as I know the Catholics have just as much fun with bonfires and fireworks as the rest of us. It just always strikes me as odd that we should be celebrating the torture and gruesome execution of a man in this way (even if he was a terrorist inspired by religion.)

We haven't really changed much in 400 years have we?
