More Clipper Yacht Race Photos

Apologies for the delay in update but I have no laptop and photo editing + blogging with an iPad or Chromebook isn't as easy. At some point the jpegs are reduced in resolution though I then further shrink them to blog size (originals available on request).

Anyway here are a few more in particular of Derry Londonderry Doire - and we get to find out what Susie says.

More photos of the other three yachts that went into the Pool of London on request.

BTW Clipper experts - how were the four select yachts chosen?

No-one who I have spoken to is really sure how the yachts were chosen to go through Tower Bridge. Originally it was just going to be 2 boats - Great Britain and Northern Ireland and OneDLL. Qingdao and the mighty Derry~Londonderry~Doire were late additions, which obviously we were extremely please about!

Great pictures once more.

Hi Christina,

The four were jolly lucky and looked spectacular in the Pool on London. I'm guessing you're glued to the race viewer?

Good luck with your legs!

If you happen to be on the riverbank again this Saturday,Gladys will be defending her silverware in the Great River Race....

Chris: the GRR is in my diary and I've just been checking the weather for Saturday. Where to watch is the question....

Yes, glued to the race viewer, last thing I check at night, first thing I check in the morning!

I was on the other side of Tower Bridge, so missed seeing them in the Pool. All the crew (and skipper!) were extremely excited to be chosen to go through the bridge... they had to do a crew count to make sure a few extras didn't sneak on!

Next time I see them will be in Cape Town at the end of October - still seems a little bit surreal.

Have you got the wind overlay feature to work on the clipper race tracker?

Of course it could just be calm over the whole of Europe but....
