Haiku for Tillerman's Laser

I was very impressed by the talent on display inspired by the call to write a poem about the America's Cup, and decided that such skills deserved, nay demanded, a second showing.

But what topic to cover? Well how about the possible (or possibly not) damage to Tillerman's Laser.

So how about it, blog readers of the world, present your poetry please, on the "Ode to the fallen Sailboat (or maybe not)".

I'll kick-off with these Haiku: there are two as don't know whether the news is good or bad, hence:

Alas it gusted fifty
Tillerman's Laser is lost
Now we are all sad

Or

Despite it gusting fifty
Tillerman's Laser is safe
Now we are all glad

  1. Winter winds have stirred.
    My lotus petal Laser
    smiles. Oh joy, oh joy.

  2. JP: Haiku is like Japanese to me. How about a Limerick for St. Patrick's Day?

The storm has come and gone
And there are trees on Tillerman's lawn
    with detour signs
    and downed power lines
with no poles to hang them on

    What Tillerman wants to avoid
is to hear that his laser is destroyed
    Well, Oh my golly
    She's still on her dolly
And that is the final woid

  3. Bring tea for the Tillerman
    Steak for the sun
Wine for the women who made the rain come
    Seagulls sing your hearts away
'Cause while the sinners sin, the children play

Oh Lord how they play and play
For that happy day, for that happy day

Cat Stevens (Yusuf Islam) I liked Cat better....
(This has nothing to do with the assignment, but I frickin love this short little song)

  6. I think Bonnie wins the award here for neatest poem of an Ode to Tillerman's Laser.

Of course all others are very good too - keep up the good work!
