New look

Celebrated my new laptop - a HP Pavilion TX 1340 (which has a screen that rotates round in a very cool way) by re-doing the blog format.

And here is the same spider as the past post. But whereas the previous picture it appeared to be threatening St Pauls, here it looks like it is guarding the Tate.

Things can look differently from another viewpoint!

Love the new format! Is the header pic from one of your sailing trips?

ps( This giant spider sculpture reminds me of the arachnid robots in The Matrix. To me, it looks like it's choosing which small human would be the most delectable.)

  4. Thanks for your comments - yup I took the photo as we approached the Fastnet Rock back in 2005.

Overnight we'd had no wind, then in the morning thick fog. Finally the wind came and blew the fog away just in time for us to round the rock.

ps underneath the spider was a teacher with their group of small children.... who would be first to be spider's dinner?

Hmm, that would be a difficult choice...the children would be less crunchy/ tough, but a more sizable meal could be made of the teacher. Perhaps one of each?

ps(that's a seriously gorgeous photo from your trip)

  6. Maybe it was a form of class control "Ok children, behave as if you're naughty teacher will feed you to the spider"!

I love the photo too and looking at it makes me want to go sailing again. All I need is crew ;)
