From Simon Bolivar's birth place it is but a few blocks to his resting place in this, the Panteon Nacional.His bronze sarcophagus has the place of honour at the chancel with four guards on sentry, and around the aisles are tombs of 140 of other notable Venezuelans (below)
Behind the mountains rise high until lost in the clouds.
