London's Cryptic Symbol

A great way to see the sights of London is by taking the Thames Clipper along the river. The eagle eyed will also spot this cryptic symbol along the way.

Where could you see it and what is it?

Hint: this does not in any way involve Leonardo da Vinci, Opus Dei, Tom Hanks or Andrey Tautou.

  2. Nope, something quite specific.

  3. Well let's hazard a guess. It's the female symbol but upside down with the cross on top and then an X through it. So it must be the headquarters of the UK Anti-Feminist League.

  4. It's also the alchemical symbol for antimony with an X through it. So it means "No antimony was used in the manufacture of this product."

  5. Nope, nope, nope.

It was a hard one to track down I must admit.

  6. It seems to be an orb struck through with a prohibitory X. It must mean NO POPE. Probably put there by Presbyterians.

  7. It's the sail insignia for the new Bruce Kirby boat called Down With Popes And Feminists.

  8. It's the symbol for woman, with the symbol for a Native American teepee. Probably the family symbol for Pocohantas.
