Is it the Regents Canal somewhere near the Green Bridge in Milie End Road? It does run roughly North/South there - and I'm sure that is not a golf ball!
Correct - its the Grand Union which turns into Regents Canal and its just about near the Mile End Road (which I remember walking under). The nearest bridge is the wonderfully named Gunmakers Arms Bridge: https://canalrivertrust.org.uk/enjoy-the-waterways/canal-and-river-network/grand-union-canal
Is it the River Lee Navigation?
ReplyDeleteIt does run roughly north-south and does pass by a golf course.
Close by but not actually the Lee (or navigation) though I have a post about the Lee already to go....

It was on a walk I'm just about to blog about.
That round thing looks like a bollard, so it must be close to a lock...perhaps the lock on the Regent's Canal at Mile End?
ReplyDeleteDamn, didn't read the updated comments before posting...
