Laptop dead....

.... so there will be no posting or email for a bit while buy another one and try to recover the old hard disk

oh, sorry to hear that!! :( I hope you're able to resurrect the old drive, and are managing ok without a laptop in the meantime. (No urgent assigments due this week, I hope?)

Laptops have such a frustratingly short life-span, don't they! After examining my brain-dead four year old laptop, the tech. advised me to use it as a door-stop, or frisbee...but I think running over it a few times with the car would have been more satisfying.
