Sony DSC-TX10 waterproof camera design flaw

Hmmm.... pretty sure that's not meant to happen.

The Sony DSC-TX10 camera (reviewed previously here) may be waterproof and shockproof but the sliding mechanism it uses to open isn't alas as well built.

Bother.

Apparently, merely shock-resistant.

.. or shear unproof, for it was a sideways tearing motion that broke the open mechanism not a shock as in fall.

Maybe it's only shearproof when under water.

neither is the battery and memory card door. One drop cracked the locking tab for the door and water got in. This camera takes great pictures but was not ran through a rigorous R&D long enough
