JP: Did you row when you were younger? Do you still? You show alot of interest in this regatta. I have a lot of rowing history in my family. I didn't quite get the "bloody American millionaire freaks" comment, however. I assume there's a bit of facetiousness in there, I hope?
I did go to one of the universities where rowing is a big thing (might have left some clues as to which one) but actually rowing involved getting up at 6 am which for some reason wasn't that keen on then (or now for that matter).
But I live near the start so when going for a wander often head for the Embankment to see what's happening.

Nope, alas not a rower.

Yeah, 6 a.m. was never high on my to do list. And all that rowing too!
I suppose that's what Tillerman meant, although I had a different
idea, I think
I did wonder at first what Tillerman had in mind - what was your idea?
I must admit, I thought it had something to do with Larry Ellison. But then he did only say millionaire
