Oh, is the water sweet and cool,
Gentle and brown, above the pool?
And laughs the immortal river still
Under the mill, under the mill?
Say, is there Beauty yet to find?
And Certainty? and Quiet kind?
Deep meadows yet, for to forget
The lies, and truths, and pain?… oh! yet
Stands the Church clock at ten to three?
And is there honey a chelsea bun still for tea?

Did you have tea at the Orchard on this trip? Has it changed much since you were a student? For that matter has it change much since Rupert Brooke was there?
This was the day after a reunion dinner and its fair to say that my fellow students had changed a lot more than the college. Not being students we didn't actually have time to punt all the way to the Grantchester so headed back downriver after reaching the meadows (where I headed for Fitzbillies)
