So its with more than usual envy that I look at pictures of the start of the annual Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC), currently a few days out from the start on their way to the sunny Caribbean.
Oh to be in the sun, cool drink in hand, listening to the gurgle of water under the stern....

Gawd yes. On Saturday a bunch of lunatics including myself is going boating on the Hamble and we won't be standing in the sun, drink in hand. Cowering out of the wind, hands in pockets, more like.
Good luck - think you'll need to be dressed like the Michelin man and have flasks of hot tea to hand.
